We had the most incredible time away in Hendy. True lifetime memories for me, my wife and my kids. Went through Northumberland, along Loch Lomond and along the west coast of Scotland.
The handover and support with the motorhome couldn’t have been any better, and everything worked exactly as we expected it to. Absolutely perfect experience and couldn’t recommend it higher.

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Avoid This Motorhome I booked this motorhome for one week, hoping to enjoy a trip along the NC500. Unfortunately, the experience turned into a complete nightmare. When I arrived to collect the vehicle, the owner casually mentioned a "slight issue" with the gearbox — that it was slipping between first and second gear. I was reassured it was fine to drive, so I set off, assuming it wouldn’t cause any major problems. However, on the very first day, it became clear the issue was serious, especially considering the hilly terrain of the NC500 route. I contacted the owner early in the morning, and he promised to send a mechanic. The mechanic didn’t arrive until the evening and confirmed the gearbox was faulty and couldn’t be repaired on the spot. We were then left stranded in a remote rural area until 10 PM, waiting for recovery. Shockingly, the owner only arranged for a recovery vehicle for the motorhome — not for us. He expected me, my family, and our 1.5-year-old baby to wait outside in the cold for a taxi. We stayed inside the broken motorhome for another hour, hoping for help, but no taxi arrived. The recovery vehicle eventually left. Finally, around 1 AM, the recovery team returned and arranged transport for us. By then, I had no choice but to cancel the trip. I lost all the money I had paid for campsites and received zero assistance from the owner in providing documentation needed for a travel insurance claim. Aside from the mechanical failure, the motorhome itself was poorly maintained — extremely noisy due to loose items rattling throughout the interior, making the drive uncomfortable. This was one of the worst travel experiences I’ve ever had. Poor communication, lack of responsibility, and a complete disregard for our safety and well-being. I would strongly recommend avoiding this motorhome.

Hello Ganesh, it’s a good job I can reply to this to prove what kind of person you are.
Upon arrival for our Motorhome at 11:45am we informed you that the van had returned at 9:30am the same day from a rental with an issue. The 1st gear was slipping out and obviously with the van only being back a few hours we could not get this fixed. We informed you that we had drove it to make sure it was manageable which it was you just needed to hold the 1st gear in to set off with and then come into 2nd gear. We asked if you could manage this or otherwise we would have to cancel the booking. You said that this was fine and that that you drove large vehicles for a living so would be no issue for someone like yourself. You signed the forms for the van with the extra added on to acknowledged that we had gone through the issue and that you were happy with it.
During the start of your trip you got in touch with myself to say that the 1st gear was slipping out and not working and that you had not been informed about this, I responded to say that you were shown this and we have the proof with the forms. You quickly changed your response and agreed that you had been told. You proceeded to send me a video of you sticking the 1st gear in and just letting it slip out. I walked you through the steps of holding the 1st gear in to set off with which you couldn’t grasp. This is where I realised that you clearly didn’t have the experience that you made out. I asked you not to do what you were doing with the gears as this would make the issue worse. You proceeded to send me a video of you doing the same thing and then doing what I told you with holding the 1st gear in taking off the handbreak that was on in the video and setting off. I questioned the hand-break being on and you ramming the gear in and revving the vehicle. You started that the hand break wasn’t on but you could clearly see it being taken off on the video so this was another lie.
It became apparent that you could not drive the vehicle and you were going to make it worse, I asked you to please return the van and you would be given a full refund. You refused to do so and continued on your trip.
The following day you said that the van was broke and could not be driven. We have a tracking device on the motorhome and could see that you were driving just after sending this message. I questioned you on this and you said you only drove it 10 minutes up the road. Completely contradicting yourself from the previous messages. You sent me a video of the van again, I informed you that it’s clearly worsened which was unforeseeable. Once again I asked you to return the Motorhome to avoid more damages, you refused this and continued to drive the Motorhome. We could see this on the tracker. Plenty driving done considering it was “broken and undriveable”. You eventually stopped driving due to me threatening with the police. I informed you I would get recovery sorted. I went through my insurance and had recovery organised with a mechanic coming out on site to try and fix the issue which unfortunately he couldn’t. I’m not sure what world you live in but you can’t just get someone out within 10 minutes it takes time which anybody who has experience with driving would know. The insurance provided multiple options for yourselves which you refused. You refused full recovery for the van and yourselves back to collection point. You refused recovery and hotel in the closest city which was Inverness all because you wanted to go to Aberdeen instead which was longer. Eventually after hours of being rude on the phone to the insurance company trying everything they could to help you agreed for transportation to a hotel paid for in Aberdeen and recovery for the Motorhome. This took so long because of the way you handled the situation. A recovery man eventually arrived to where you were rude and refused to start getting your stuff out of the van ready for the taxi arriving on site. The recovery man informed the insurance that you had been rude and aggressive towards him and refused to get your stuff out of the van but instead started cooking and closed the door on him. You also informed me you had no food which was clearly another lie as you were seen cooking meals for everyone. You also informed me that you had no facilities, you were in a Motorhome with a full sets of facilities inside the van. I could see you and the van turned on by the engine through the tracker app, I questioned this and you said it was for the heating. The van has a full heating system which runs off the gas which once again you clearly didn’t have a clue about as you hadn’t watched the videos or listened to through handover. You tired to tell me that you did know about this and that the van heats up quicker from the cab heading. I can tell you now it does not. Due to refusing any help the recovery man informed the insurance and left. The insurance cancelled the taxi which was 20 minutes away due to you refusing help. I was on the phone none stop all day arranging different recovery options for yourselves. With all the refusals which had been arranged for you this amounted to over £1,000 without actual getting anything moved. Once again my insurance arranged transportation for you and your family to Aberdeen which arrived early ours of the morning. You were fully refunded for everything by myself and Goboony. Considering you were so concerned about the safety of your family I’m surprised you didn’t have a baby seat for you 1.5 which you just help inside the Motorhome. I also let you leave your vehicle parked up on my drive for a further 4 days. Nothing more could have been done than what I did to help you and your family. We are a family run business with one motorhome not a company. Once the motorhome was recovered home I took it for a drive myself and it was completely manageable to drive so just proves that you have absolutely no idea about driving a vehicle. You’ve also complained about things rattling inside the motorhome, again if you had any knowledge at all you would know that when driving a motorhome they are noisy this is how they’re built unfortunately. It’s apparent that you were trying to get a free trip. We’ve had no issues with rents nor them us which can clearly be seen by previous booking reviews. You’re a rude man and I’ll be making sure you don’t have the opportunity to rent a van off this site again.

We had a great time taking Hendy to Glastonbury.
The handover was very thorough and Garry was very helpful. The videos provided before collection were also great for getting a good understanding of how everything worked.
There was plenty of space for the 6 of us. Loads of room to cook breakfast in the morning. The shower was also the best I have ever known in a motorhome. Plenty of pressure.
Would 100% hire again...if we are lucky enough to get tickets for Glastonbury!

I had a fantastic time in in this MH and Declann and his farther made it so easy!
Plenty information re the RV prior to picking up and then on handover both Declann and Garry where able to assist with all questions i had for them also available through the trip.
I had 30 days in this camper and as a reasonably experienced driver i found the RV able to handle anything that was thrown at it re narrow roads and hills, steep hills, the Fiat engine is fantastic. Having travelled several thousand kilometres through Scotland, Ireland, Wales and England I found the van to be very spacious and comfortable, no regrets, no complaints, in short I absolutely loved this way of life and would recommend to anyone considering.
One last thing to mention, the RV sites i stayed at and depending on what they charged all were exceptional however limited choice in England compared to the other regions.

Me and a few mates travelled Scotland last weekend. Lovely motorhome, perfect for our little trip. Owners were very helpful and made the pick up and drop up very easy! Would definitely recommend and hopefully use again in the near future!

Amazing service from start to finish, all questions answered and the handover was made very easy and smooth as there was YouTube clips of how everything worked which was good if you needed to refer back to anything.
We loved staying in the Motorhome and it was very warm and cosy.
Our Daughter left her glasses in the Motorhome and I contacted Declann and he posted the first classes back to us.

Absolutely fantastic experience with Declann and his Swift 6 Berth Motorhome over the August Bank Holiday 2024! From start to finish, everything was seamless. Declann was incredibly helpful, offering clear instructions on the motorhome’s features and ensuring we felt comfortable before setting off. His communication throughout the booking and collection process was top-notch, making our motorhome adventure stress-free.
The motorhome itself was immaculate and spacious, easily accommodating our family of five. The layout was perfect for both day-to-day living and nighttime, with plenty of storage space and all the amenities we could ask for – a fully-equipped kitchen, a clean and comfortable bathroom, and a dining area that transformed into a cozy sleeping space. The beds were comfortable, and everyone had room to relax and enjoy the trip.
The vehicle was a dream to drive. Despite its size, it handled well on the road, and we had no issues navigating both motorways and smaller, scenic routes. We especially appreciated the powerful heating system, which kept us warm during cooler evenings, and the modern tech features like the reversing camera and Bluetooth system, which made driving and parking much easier.
Declann’s Swift 6 Berth gave us the freedom to explore at our own pace, and we were able to stop at some stunning locations without worrying about accommodation. It truly felt like a home away from home, and the kids absolutely loved the adventure!
All in all, I can't recommend Declann and his motorhome enough. If you're looking for a hassle-free, comfortable, and fun way to explore the outdoors with family or friends, this is it. We’ll definitely be booking again for our next trip!

The handover went very smoothly. Declan and his pop were outstanding, generously providing us with camping chairs at no extra charge. We initially headed to Scotland, but due to the weather, we had to alter our plans and ended up in Ripon for the final leg of our adventure. The motorhome was surprisingly spacious, comfortably accommodating all six of us, and the kids absolutely loved it. We will definitely rent from them again.

We hired the van to travel to Scotland in December it was well presented when we arrived clean and fully equipped !!
We were given a tour of the van and it’s workings very relaxed and told we could call at anytime if we had any issues which we did and both father and son were very helpful.

Lovely spacious and well kitted out Motorhome. Very comfortable stay and had everything we needed. The only hiccup was on pickup when we couldn’t get the bike rack to work. The ratchet has broken but we managed to still use it with additional straps and bungees. Our children absolutely loved it. Would recommend!

We hired this van from Declan and his family for the October half term for a road trip around the west coast of Scotland. It was our 1st trip like this, along with our 2 kids (8 & 9years old) and 2 Labradors. It was the most amazing trip, everything we had planned for and more.
All comms prior to collection were great, Dec sent through loads of videos for us to watch to familiarize ourselves with the workings of the van which was a great help, and his mum & dad managed the handover with us on collection and drop off. They were brilliant, talked us through everything we needed to know and got us off on the road!
The van itself is in great condition, and full of everything you would need for a trip away (minus a corkscrew and wine glasses - no biggie - we bought one and drank wine in mugs on the beach!! :) .
We would definitely recommend hiring from this family if you are considering it - great service, great van, friendly and helpful family. All good! Thank you for helping make our first road trip go smoothly!!

We took this van to Scotland and experienced storm Babet unfortunately. We had no issues with the van with driving, very comfortable and easy to drive. Hard to find picking up the van as postcode takes you to wrong house. It's next to red telephone box for future people. Everything fine on collection but on inspection its not a swift alcove but a swift edge. There were no swivel seats as in the picture. And no picnic table and chairs as said. Well We didn't find them. The photos of van are actually stock photos. On driving we notice a cover on the left wing mirror was missing, must have been from driving on Scotland roads, and we took photos and sent pics and covered wires to protect. On handover they claimed it must have been hit and fell off. We never hit anything and if we did there would have been extra damage on wing mirror. We was then handed an invoice from eBay for 63.99 for a replacement. On top of that we was asked if we would rather send cash over to their bank account and get a full deposit back, but this would take over 3 weeks and if was in a rush for deposit back that way was quicker. We refused and said we would go through goboony. One annoying thing also is 8 am hand back. Maybe it should be 11 in and 2 out as like most. So we basically have to pay a night to keep it at home and clean. Ps. Iv just recieved fully deposit back and no 63.99 chargers.???? I did have van booked in April but we wanted the swivel seats and later hand over, and with the hand over we had we have cancelled it at 15% charge. . We felt obligations to drive back on a red warning of the storm due to times of hand over. Was only told to keep them informed. Maybe there needs to be a clause in hand overs for such situations.

Absolute pleasure to deal with the whole family, demo videos sent before hiring very helpfull, but also shown round on pick up everythong explained clearly , hendy was a pleasure to drive and really comfortable has everything you need would highly recommend.

We hired the van for 5 days away and we went to Scotland. The booking etc was easy, and we received video instructions of how to operate the van. All good. Handover on collection was painless and off we went. The van had all the facilities we needed, even the crucial one given the weather temperature was boiling hot. We stayed in campsites each night rather than going feral and living off the van. The van was clean and tidy and worked well. The utility functions were easy to use. We had a great time. Stopping here and there enjoying the view and surroundings. Even meeting some very intriguing guests on the way. We were told to be back at 8am, this was even written in starred words on the takeover form. We did not have a problem with this. But, no one was available at 8am. We contacted the owner who said someone would be there in a minute. But by 9am we had to leave due to a prior engagement. Drop off was at their house, and we could hear people in the house, water running etc. Given we rang the doorbell and knocked several times and it also took 15 mins carefully driving down the drive-in reverse, it was disappointing no one was available. We left the van clean and tidy having taken it for a wash prior. 9 hours later we were told there were a few issues. Issue we were not aware of prior, whether they were there before or not, we could not say. We paid our dues that took 5 weeks to sort. Nevertheless it is a good van to hire, and the experience travelling was excellent. We planned to book 3 separate weeks on our return. Unfortunately for us, the return experience disappointed us too much to use the same van. So we went elsewhere to fulfil the booking.

Declann and both his parents were extremely helpful throughout the booking and travelling process - really nice people who I cannot recommend more! Hendy is an ace Motorhome which provided us somewhere to stay during a trip to Bruge and Lille for the RWC - very spacious and easy to drive/operate. Looking forward to booking another trip next year :)

Great, comfortable motorhome in good condition and easy to drive. Everything we could need as far as kitchen items were concerned. Comfortable camping chairs and table included which were great for sitting on of an evening under the awning. We used the rear bed and kept it up all the time, and the over the cab bed which we also left made up during the day for convenience. Good communication from the start. Helpful videos for using the various facilities were sent through, including how to set the power for the motor home, how to empty the chemical waste and so on. It was our first experience of motorhome holiday, and it won't be our last! The friendly owners took us through all the paperwork and basic functions on collection, and were very helpful when we'd left something on the van and had to call back to collect it a few days later. Only one thing to watch out for, the collection address on Goboony is a short distance from the actual collection address which caused some confusion.

What an amazing trip we had from the north east to Glastonbury in Hendy. A beautiful and reliable campervan with excellent storage and amenities included. Comfortable to drive and fuel efficient. Just what you want for those long journeys. Declann and his dad were amazing. They provided everything we needed in regards to getting us familiar with the controls etc. The videos were invaluable. Will definitely use again. Thanks for making our trip so special ❤️
