Renting Sunshine from Stella was a brilliant experience from start to finish. The handover was smooth and relaxed, impressively so, given that I managed to turn up at the wrong train station. It was clear straight away that Stella cares deeply about Sunshine, and the van is every bit as good as the photos suggest.
On the road, Sunshine was a joy to drive. My first evening took me over the Bealach na Bà to Applecross, one of Scotland's most demanding passes, with its tight hairpins, 20% gradients, and a steep plunge down into the village, and Sunshine handled it without a moment's hesitation. The digital rear-view mirror is a particularly handy touch on a road like that.
Come evening, the van is thoughtfully kitted out with everything you need. Storage is generous, and features like the pull-out bed, swivel chair, and pop-top make it easy to get comfortable, even at over six foot, I had plenty of room.
Overall, I couldn't recommend Sunshine and Stella highly enough. From the warmth of the handover to the quality of the van itself, everything was taken care of. If you're looking to explore the Scottish Highlands in comfort and style, look no further, this is exactly the kind of trip Sunshine was made for.
